Meet Derrick Morgan Jr., Esq.
Derrick Morgan Jr. serves as the Managing Partner at Morgan Business Solutions, LLC, where he has guided and supported over 3,000 businesses and brands with their trademarks and intellectual property needs across more than 80 countries.
At Morgan Business Solutions, Derrick provides comprehensive counsel on all facets of trademark law and branding, including clearance, prosecution, office actions, enforcement, litigation, and portfolio management. Known for his strategic approach and skill in negotiation, Derrick focuses on cost-effective solutions while fiercely advocating for his clients' interests. He is deeply committed to helping startups establish a solid foundation and safeguarding the long-standing trademarks of global brands.
Experience & Interests
Before founding Morgan Business Solutions in Chicago (now based in Dallas), Derrick gained valuable experience as an associate attorney at an Indianapolis law firm, where he also served as associate general counsel for USA Badminton. His professional background is rooted in sports law, with roles at several notable organizations, including the NCAA, USA Track & Field and the Indiana Sports Corp. Derrick has also honed his litigation skills across multiple federal districts, handling cases from Colorado to New York.
Outside of his legal career, Derrick enjoys quality time with family, friends and his dog.
He also enjoys track and field, boxing, exploring contemporary art galleries, supporting his beloved Hoosiers, and documenting his travel adventures.
A passionate globetrotter, Derrick is over half way to his goal of exploring 100 countries.
